• Scoping Study

    Scoping Studies

Scoping studies of Commercial and Industrial clients include high level study (ASHRAE level I or equivalent) to identify potential “Energy Efficiency Measures (EEMs)” and/or “Demand Reduction Measures (DRMs)”. An audit report is provided which includes energy/demand savings, financial analysis and next steps for implementing each measure. The intent of these studies is to be a wholistic assessment of the available opportunities to gauge the potential of savings and simple payback for each opportunity.

  • Focus Studies

Focus studies evaluate the performance of the existing or new single equipment or system for the energy savings. These studies are not only useful to ensure optimum energy efficient equipment or the existing system operation but also helps justify purchase of new energy efficient equipment for the facility. The utility incentives are provided in many states for the owners to buy energy efficient equipment that helps reduce operation costs during life of the equipment.

  • Comprehensive Studies

These studies represent complete in-depth picture of where a plant or building uses energy and what are the potential energy conservation opportunities and related Greenhouse gas (GHG) savings. The studies account of last three years of energy consumption data to establish trends and factors affecting energy use specific to the facility studied. Our staff conducts multiple days of site visits going through all energy users in the building establishing share of the overall energy use by the facility, identifying significant energy users (SEUs), data collection, logging and analysis, and in-depth report of the opportunities with energy savings calculations and simple payback of each energy conservation opportunity. These studies are used by utilities in multiple states to confirm energy savings potentials for providing incentives. The efforts and results are considered equivalent to ASHRAE level II to III for commercial buildings.
